I can't go on spoiling your life any longer.
Everything has gone from me but the certainty of your goodness. If anybody could have saved me it would have been you. You have been entirely patient with me and incredibly good.
What I want to say is I owe all the happiness of my life to you. You see I can't even write this properly. I know that I am spoiling your life, that without me you could work. I don't think two people could have been happier 'til this terrible disease came. You have been in every way all that anyone could be. You have given me the greatest possible happiness.
So I am doing what seems the best thing to do. I begin to hear voices, and I can't concentrate. I feel we can't go through another of those terrible times. “Dearest, I feel certain that I am going mad again.
